Workflow S1: No overall 3D solve
Begin with 2D tracking, either automatic or supervised, with no 3D solve
Set up an estimated camera field of view on the Lens tab of the image preprocessor (required to avoid keystoning problems in the corners of the image. This is typically determined from other shots that are 3D-solved.
Set up the desired stabilization, using the Stabilize tab of the image preprocessor. Be sure to select desired trackers, or all trackers, before clicking Get Tracks. Once stabilization is set up, no need to use Apply to Trkers on the Output Tab.
In the image preprocessor, apply any lens preset you might have.
Run the Stabilization Rig Creator script with the following settings:
o Camera already stable: ON (It's stationary!)
o Update 2D tracking: ON
o Simple plane: OFF for most 3D apps, ON to export to After Effects or any other app that can accept only simple planes, and handles 2D distortion itself.
o Answer NO about copying the seed FOV to the lens panel.
Further examination of the shot can only be done in the Perspective View!
o Turn OFF right-click/View/Show Image (you want to see stabilization screen, not the perspective view's normal screen).
o Turn on Lock to see the final stabilized output
Run a full 3D export to your 3D animation and/or compositing packages.
Disable the normal original background image display!
You might need to do some additional work downstream, to make sure the original shot imagery is applied as a texture to the projection screen.
