Working with Lens Distortion
The export will build image undistortion and redistortion nodes into the flow when lens distortion is present. If a supported lens model is involved (not fisheye and not classic with some settings) and the Use LensDistort node checkbox is checked, Fusion LensDistort nodes will be used to produce the undistortion or redistortion. Otherwise, image distortion maps (STMaps) will be written and used by a Texture node or Custom Tool node.
Note: Be sure to include any distortion maps or FBX mesh files in your delivery to the artists who will be using the exported comp.
If you use a one-pass workflow, where undistorted imagery is delivered, you can ignore or delete the re-distortion path.
When you use a 0-pass or 2-pass lens distortion workflow, be sure that you use the result of the merge of the 3-D render with the original imagery, and that the undistorted image is not being being used as a background for the camera node (as might be convenient during setup). This ensures that the original footage is never resampled, for maximum image quality. It also ensures that any little edge artifacts around the undistorted then redistorted images are not used.
