Minimize Rolling Shutter
Minimize rolling shutter by choice of camera, by choosing faster camera readout rates (if possible), by accurately measuring the rolling shutter fraction on- set at the shoot (with a left-right zig-zag sequence with the actual camera setup), or by minimizing pan/tilt rates during shots. Rolling shutter effects can overwhelm the fine anamorphic distortions we’re trying to eliminate; distortion shouldn’t be calculated during rapid slews. You can have SynthEyes solve for it, compensated tracker data, but that makes the match hard to examine, and most downstream applications can’t render matching footage.
