Imagineer Brings On Stereoscopic, VFX Artist Mary Poplin as Product Specialist in LA; Imagineer’s Martin Brennand Opens Australian Office to Support Pac Rim, Asia Customers
GUILDFORD, UK (December 15, 2010) — Imagineer Systems (www.imagineersystems.com) today announced it has expanded its worldwide team of product experts in the wake of the launch of its newest 64-bit VFX software, mocha Pro. With this announcement, Imagineer Systems has named stereoscopic artist and VFX industry artist, Mary Poplin, as its new Product Specialist in Los Angeles, CA, effective immediately.
Additionally, Imagineer System’s Martin Brennand has been charged with opening the Australian office for the Company, and is responsible for supporting customers, partners and prospects in the Pac Rim and Asian VFX markets. These expansions translate to a new level of customer presence for Imagineer Systems, with personal touch service available now in nearly every time zone around the world.
“Mary joins Imagineer Systems at an important time for the Company as we are rolling out the most significant launch in our recent history with mocha Pro. Her unique experience as a stereoscopic artist at Stereo D, with in-depth experience using mocha for complex 2D to 3D conversion projects on blockbuster films, is invaluable to our customers who are increasingly turning to Imagineer and mocha Pro to learn how we can help them,” said John Paul Smith, chief executive officer of Imagineer Systems. “The Company is also expanding our global presence with new offices in Australia, headed up by our own Martin Brennand. Hailing originally from Australia, Martin combines his hands on VFX expertise with his deep understanding of the territory and the issues customers face to help expand our high-touch customer presence to the entire Pac Rim. We’re very pleased to have such talent supporting our customers in nearly every corner of the global market.”
Mary Poplin joins Imagineer Systems as Product Specialist in the LA office following her experience as a mocha and mokey user in her role as a Depth Artist at Stereo D in Los Angeles. A stereoscopic artist, matte painter, cleanplate artist and roto artist, Mary faced the same challenges, obstacles and deadline pressures Imagineer Systems’ customers face every day. Mary rotoscoped and depthed challenging shots in the 2D to 3D conversion of major Hollywood blockbuster films, such as The Last Airbender, Gullivers Travels, and Jackass 3D. This experience positions her well to help Imagineer Systems’ customers understand how to leverage mocha Pro to create accurate roto shapes with less manual keyframing, the key to all visual effects compositing for the 2D to 3D conversion process.
Imagineer Systems’ new Australian offices in Melbourne will formally open on January 3, 2011 and will be headed up by Imagineer Systems veteran Product Specialist, Martin Brennand. Martin has played a key role supporting customers in Europe and the US, and is well known by customers for his comprehensive tutorial video development and his appearances at user group meetings, conferences and trade shows to help further the understanding of Imagineer’s Planar Tracking technology, and most recently, mocha Pro.
