Creating Mesh Objects
Create objects on the perspective window grid with the Create mesh object mode. Use the 3-D panel or right-click menu to control what kind of object is created. Selecting an object type from the right-click menu launches the creation mode immediately.
With the mesh type selected, click and drag in a 3D viewport or perspective view to create the mesh. Shift-drag to create a "square" object such as square, disk, pyramid, etc.
Tip: When creating objects such as boxes and cylinders that have height, you’ll be continuing to drag the height until you click and release again to terminate the drag. Due to how Windows operates, there is no cursor wrap unless the mouse button is pushed, so you should push and hold the mouse while setting the height of tall objects.
If the SynthEyes user interface is set so that a moving object is active on the Shot menu, the created object will be attached to that object. You can also use the Hierarchy View to reparent objects.
Use the # button on the 3-D panel to adjust the number of segments of the selected standard geometric object (cubes, cylinders, etc). See Edit/Edit Pivots to move the pivot point.
Use the resizing rectangle at the (local coordinate system) base of an object to easily reposition and resize it from the edges. Use shift and control-shift to maintain the aspect ratio while resizing in various directions depending on where you started.
Control-drag the resizing rectangle to rotate it.
The Duplicate Mesh script on the Script menu can clone and offset a mesh, so you can create a row of fence posts quickly, for example. The Duplicate Mesh on Trackers script can copy a tree mesh onto each tracker on a hillside, for example.
