GeoH Auto-Generate Weights
Automatically creates an initial set of vertex weights for a rig: you should expect to have to fine-tune it substantially, but it is a quick head start.
There's one parameter, Transition vertices (equivalent to Kernel Size for the Relax tool). A value of 1 results in a row of 50%/50% vertices at the boundary between two bones. A value of 2 results in two rows, one 66/33% and the other 33%/66% etc. You can use increasingly large values if the mesh is very fine (detailed) compared to the size of the bones, or if the mesh is coarse, reduce it down to one or even zero.
