Glitch Fixing
You can expect to see a higher jitter level in a 3-D planar tracker's 3-D path than you would from a solid normal 3-D solve, since the planar track is based on less
information. You should not be unduly concerned about that for the purposes intended for planar tracking, because the jitter corresponds to motions that will not make a difference to effects inserted near the tracked plane.
You may notice larger glitches in the camera or object path that you didn't initially notice in the tracker data itself, and those bear investigation and correction. Clearly, the best choice is to fix the tracking data itself.
If you attempt to set 2-D keys on additional frames of the planar tracker in the image to correct problems, it will be very difficult to produce smooth paths.
Instead, set new search region keys on the tracker wherever that is effective; allowing the tracker to find the correct solution.
You can manipulate the camera or object path in the 3-D environment using the 3-D or perspective viewports, which are probably what you are looking at anyway. The perspective view offers path-relative handles (via the right-click/View submenu) that can help.
Note : you can see the 3-D path of a planar tracker in the graph editor, but it is not editable there.
Another option for relatively smooth camera or object motions: delete the camera or moving object's position/rotation key on a problematic frame, by right-clicking one of the spinners on the 3-D panel with the camera/object selected, or using the graph editor. Data for the missing frame will be interpolated from adjacent frames.
To reduce small overall jitters that have proven problematic, you can consider using the Filtering Control button on the Solver panel to filter the converted camera/object path.
Important : filtering causes sliding, creating mismatches between the 2- and 3-D data. Accordingly, filtering should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.
Filtering the Distance channel will cut down chatter towards and away from the plane, without affecting the image much, good or bad.
